The CCEA is a nationally recognised body assigned accreditation functions by the National Board under s43 of the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law as in force in each state and territory (National Law).
CCEA is responsible for the:
CCEA reports to the National Board as required in the Agreement for Accreditation Functions that exists between CCEA and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) on behalf of the National Board.
Under rule 38 of CCEA’s constitution, the National Board has a role in nominating two persons to act as directors of CCEA independent of the National Board.
The nominees have no responsibility to, or authority from the National Board; nor do they report to the National Board.
These independent appointments are made by the National Board with the understanding that the nominees will bring a set of skills and abilities that will support and enhance the work of CCEA. Nominees are usually appointed for a period of up to 3 years by the National Board. However, this vacancy is for a term of appointment until 9 November 2026.
These roles are open to applicants with or without chiropractic qualifications. It is preferable that applicants reside within Australia and for those applicants with chiropractic qualifications that they are registered as a chiropractor in Australia.
